A look at the odds of another American civil war.

1. War talk

Could America be on the brink of another civil war? With rising anger and distrust, it's a question that journalists and scholars are asking.

I recorded a video looking at this question. It isn’t strictly political, like many of my newsletters and videos. In fact, I channeled some math for you, based on a conversation with BJ Campbell.

It’s the same formula that’s used to predict flood risk for insurance companies. We tweaked it to find out the probability of another rare event – an American revolution. And I have to say – I was a little surprised at the results.

2. GOP says FBI has evidence of Biden “criminal scheme”

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) says a whistleblower has provided evidence of a “criminal scheme” involving then-Vice President Joe Biden. The whistleblower says Biden allegedly offered cash to a foreign national for access to policy decisions. The House Oversight Committee has issued a subpoena to the FBI, demanding the internal documents detailing the scheme be handed over. Again, we were never worried about Joe Biden’s drug-addled son, it was always about Biden himself.

3. NPR guest: Thinness = white supremacy

Health-challenged journalist Virginia Sole-Smith, author of “Fat Talk”, appeared on NPR and claimed that the desire to be thin is rooted in white supremacy. So pick up that doughnut, you damn racist.

4. Tomorrow … the Tucker “exposés”

Someone is leaking videos of Tucker Carlson from breaks during his show. The videos are being shared with Media Matters and the New York Times, who are breathlessly reporting that this is proof Tucker was a racist and other terrible things.

That’s not what they show at all.

In fact, if the leaker meant to discredit Tucker, I think it backfired. I like him more now than ever. Tomorrow, I’ll take a look at what the videos show and give you my thoughts on who may have leaked them.
