Biden ruins another "Trump trap"
As more details surface, these two supposed scandals look more similar
In case you missed it …
A Miami restaurant kicked out Fox News analyst Gianno Caldwell over his conservative political views. Caldwell said, “There's a target on the backs of people who happen to be black, who happen to be conservative, and it needs to come to an end.”
I haven’t seen this reported in mainstream media: Catholic churches have suffered 118 attacks since the SCOTUS Dobbs leak.
An Asian man killed ten people and injured more amid Lunar New Year celebrations Saturday night. USA Today’s headline? “Asian Americans say Monterey Park killings revive fears, trauma of rising anti-Asian hate around US.”
Dear Friends —
A National Review writer point out that President Biden’s classified documents scandal “is mostly a nothing-burger.”
He’s right, and also makes it clear that President Trump’s classified documents scandal was also mostly a nothing-burger. Yet that was blown up by the media because, well, Trump.
Wilfred Reilly writes:
“The massive media double standards that we observed during coverage of the two situations, however, aren’t a nothing-burger at all; they’re a real problem that we should call out and mock whenever possible, and that affect how fairly we can treat poor old Uncle Joe.”
We need to hear all of it now
And that’s the real, and very annoying, problem that will come with presidents for the foreseeable future. If the left-leaning media is going to insist on scrutinizing each Republican president (especially those like Trump and DeSantis, who they really don’t like) and is going to jump on every small sin or mistake … they have to do the same for the Democratic presidents every time. We have to resign ourselves to newsfeeds taken up by accounts of tedious small rule-breaking that don’t much matter in the grand scheme of things.
In the case of Biden’s documents, Reilly points out,
“The FBI raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home/hotel and seized the papers in question. Media speculation approached hysteria, with some outlets noting that Trump might have mishandled material bearing on global nuclear security.”
In actuality, Trump doesn’t seem to have been intending to sell those papers to a foreign entity or anything. He kept them in a locked vault, and seems to have wanted them as keepsakes.
Biden, on the other hand, kept his papers everywhere including next to his car and doesn’t appear to have even known they were there.
“In some very real ways, the Biden documents matter was “worse” than the Trump documents matter: A vice president has far less ability to declassify high-level documents than a U.S. president (although he does have some), documents were found in many more distinct locations, at least some documents were located in unsecured areas accessed by sketchy individuals such as Hunter Biden, and so forth.”
Reilly’s not-insane theory is that most D.C. higher-ups have classified documents stashed in various places after cleaning out their offices.
Media mayhem
The problem, of course, is the media line, which seems to be that Biden’s classified document scandal isn’t as bad as Trump’s classified document scandal. Once again, Dems get the softer treatment.
Just as we all know that if Donald Trump, Jr. had a laptop with half the stuff on it that Hunter Biden’s laptop did, there wouldn’t have been censoring of the story and the media would have gone nuts. Just as the BLM protests got mostly favorable coverage vs. the Jan. 6 riot. Just as the Dem politicians who flaunted lockdown rules were given a pass while GOP pols were presented as grandma-killers.
The national media made the case that mishandling of these documents was a grave matter, and cheered the prosecution of Donald Trump. Now that this narrative has snared their own president, we’ll see how they, and the Department of Justice, decide to act.

The Biden docs scandal and the Trump docs scandal are both serious matters, but there are some important differences. Trump's lawyers didn't disclose that he had these documents; Biden's did. Trump's lawyers made false statements to the National Archives; to our knowledge, Biden's didn't. Trump refused to hand over his documents when asked; Biden's people handed them over as soon as they turned up. Trump had a lot more documents than Biden.
Does that excuse Biden's behavior? No way. But at least he hasn't stonewalled the investigation like Trump did.
The Asian community is worried about Asian hate? The guy was Asian that slaughtered 10, now 11 innocent humans.
