1. Hunter Biden's convenient plea deal
The president’s son has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and a felony gun possession charge as part of a plea deal. The agreement means he's likely to avoid jail time, with sources saying the U.S. Attorney has agreed to recommend probation. It seems Hunter Biden will admit failure to pay taxes on income received in 2017 and 2018, and will enter into a pretrial diversion agreement that allows him to avoid prosecution for the gun charge.
Two things worth mentioning …
First, Republicans will scream about a double standard. They’re right.
Hunter committed tax offenses that could have easily been charged as evasion, punishable by up to five years imprisonment for each, plus lying to get a firearm, a ten-year felony. Ironically, as a senator, his dad helped create that law to show how tough Democrats are on gun crime.
Second, it’s still about more than Hunter Biden. While he certainly should be subject to the same laws as us mortals, the important Hunter Biden scandal isn’t what laws this trainwreck-of-a-man violated. It’s how, if anything, his father used government service to enrich his family.
We still need a clear picture of what Ukrainians and Chinese were buying from them. And we have yet to hear what FBI whistleblowers have alleged.
2. YouTube silences another presidential candidate
Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., known for his longtime anti-vaccine beliefs, has had a video interview with Jordan Peterson removed by YouTube for breaching its policy against vaccine misinformation.
The company declared that it would not allow content that insinuates vaccines cause chronic side effects not recognized by health authorities,. But we’ve seen those “authorities” be both right and wrong over the past two years. Kennedy, who has recently gained mainstream attention for his views, has also speculated that chemicals in the water could be causing sexual dysphoria in children.
I don’t care if he’s brilliant or a nut. The world’s largest video platform shouldn’t be silencing presidential candidates, ever.
3. Speaking of Jordan Peterson
If I were forced to build a statue of any living human being, I’d pick Jordan Peterson.
His hundreds of hours of talks on psychology, philosophy, mythology and free speech have brought him massive audiences. More importantly, his messages of responsibility, self-improvement and finding purpose in life have inspired millions – especially young men – to take ownership of their lives and strive for excellence.
How does NBC news summarize his life in one sentence? “Peterson, a right-wing Canadian pundit and psychologist known for his attacks on feminism and racial diversity …” They’re awful.
4. The evidence for a lab leak continues to build
Here’s a great piece in the New York post, written by an MD who’s a professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. It offers his ten reasons why COVID likely leaked from a Wuhan lab, as well as Fauci’s role in trying to cover that up.
As an anti-VAXer when what he is really saying is, he’s not against vaccines, but only for safe vaccines.
Ken, if you read “the real, Anthony Fauci“ or listen to RFK talk about vaccines, you can quickly see that he has been demonized, unfortunately successfully, so, as an anti-VAX or
