The CDC and mainstream media are misleading us about monkeypox and it isn't doing anyone any good.
Current data shows that 99% of all monkeypox cases are in men, 94% of those who have it had same-sex sexual contact, and 75% of those men had two or more partners in the weeks before their symptoms.
But the CDC site says:
"Anyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, who has been in close, personal contact with someone who has monkeypox is at risk."
Another entry warns that women can contract the disease through sex as well, and that pregnant women can pass it to their babies.
That may be true, but warning everyone with the same level of intensity harms us all.
It makes lower-risk people paranoid. And it doesn't stress to gay men that they're most likely to contract it. It ups the worry for everyone while downplaying it for the group that needs the warning the most.
In trying not to offend anyone, the CDC and the MSM are actively hurting everyone instead.
