The media's Pennsylvania narrative explodes
The press couldn't hide the medical difficulties of John Fetterman.
In case you missed it …
Twitter workers demand Musk not fire any of them, and that he won’t discriminate against employees based on their political beliefs, something most have built their Twitter careers doing.
Britain’s NHS is backpedaling on advising transgender treatments for minors, saying most children are just going through a 'phase.’
An RNC lawsuit alleges that Google “intentionally” sends certain emails to spam, causing “irreparable” harm.
Dear Friends —
When people posted videos of Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman struggling with words, an NBC reporter coined the phrase “shallow fakes” and tried to have them removed from the internet, merely because they were edited clips.
When journalist Dasha Burns dared to report Fetterman’s trouble with carrying a conversation and his need for a teleprompter during her interview, she was attacked by colleagues for “ableism”.
The media class knows that Democratic control of the Senate could hinge on the Pennsylvania race, and they’ve done their best to spin John Fetterman’s May stroke as a non-issue.
Last night, it all blew up. During the most anticipated debate of the midterm elections, Fetterman’s distressing frailties were on full display.
Politically, it was an unmitigated disaster, perhaps the worst debate performance of a major U.S. candidate. Ever.
Personally, it was awful to watch. He deserves all of our sympathy, and should be focusing on his recovery, not seeking political office. It felt like abuse.
Fetterman’s opening line set the tone. “Hi, goodnight, everybody. I'm running to serve Pennsylvania.”
Fetterman’s responses were more than a few mixed up words. It was repetitive and jumbled up thoughts that were often difficult to understand.
Here’s a clip of his complete inability to explain his turnaround on fracking.
Over and over, viewers saw a man who lacks the capacity to serve as a U.S. Senator.
A few liberal journalists told the obvious truth.
Joe Scarborough: John Fetterman’s ability to communicate is seriously impaired. Pennsylvania voters will be talking about this obvious fact even if many in the media will not.
Chris Cuomo: "Voters, I think, saw things that will definitely change the state of this race.”
Others clung to their ideology despite it all, including the opinion writers for Philadelphia Inquirer who declared Fetterman the night’s winner. Unfortunately for them, the debate was televised.
Voters in Pennsylvania saw with their own eyes that the narrative was a lie, and there’s no way for the press to undo that.

It is ironic that Twitter employees, who have built their careers destroying other’s careers, want their jobs guaranteed.
