I read yesterday the Hamas leader was killed in a building blown up by Israel. Hopefully it was Sinwar.

I agree fully! When you're outward act is done so that you will find favor both from enemy and ally alike, you generally end up with the less desirables of both sides taking advantage of the hopes you have of changing hearts.

Those "changed hearts" then leave you with disappointment and regret. Israel has a motto that says 'never forget'. I am sure it will be applied to this event and may even change the borders of their country to include Gaza.

If compassion can kill, a mistake made by Israel in this case, then aggression can also be a huge mistake that will be the aggressors' death sentence. The terror attack might turn out to be the worst mistake of all.

Growing up in the late 60's a Jewish buddy of mine decided to dodge the draft by living with relatives on a kibbutz in Israel. He arrived just in time to be conscripted into the Israeli army the date was May 1, 1967. My buddy who was 18 at the time joined the other 18 and above men and went off to fight the Syrians.

My buddy would go on to fight in the October War before finally coming back home. He had absolutely no regrets.
