Ken, I will be praying for you and your family. I enjoy reading your pieces and respect your opinion. No family deserves this. I'll look forward to your updates. God bless.

Done, hope it helps. How tragic for your family and 70 is NOT old. Remind them of that!

I signed the petition and emailed the Parole board. This guy kills for thrills. He will kill again. God bless your sister and the other victims. I will put the petition on a social media site and get more signers.

I can't even imagine the pain that you and your family suffered through all these years. The parole board needs to realize that you will for the rest of your life feel that pain and anguish that that animal caused for you and your family and likewise that murderer needs to feel it for the rest of his life in prison. My prayer for you and your family is well Ken

California has Newsoms compassionate release laws. Letters do nothing to prevent the parole if those laws apply. I know this as the man, a career criminal home invasion asshole broke into my elderly uncles house and beat rifle butted him in the face multiple times, tortured him for over 8 hours till he died as the man sat and watched, and stole his rifle and $30.00 in a change jar. No matter how many letters and people testifying in front of the parole board, they released him anyhow. Victims have no rights in California! I wish you the best of luck!e

There is a MASSIVE amount of subjectivity in the law, and I 100% guarantee that public attention influences those decisions.

Ken, I signed the petition and also wrote an email to the Parole Board at the address you posted. I referenced Richard Johnson (B78960), as you posted. However, the Parole Board has responded to my email twice that they cannot identify the inmate as this ID number is incorrect. Please Help.

Arrgh. Hi Gayle -- there was a typo in that. The proper number is B78690. Please send it with that. I'll also inform them as well for any that might've come in earlier.

Michelle!

Thank you so much. I saw you here and on Twitter. Please reach out anytime.

I wasn't 100% sure you were still in the L.A. bureau, but wow, the place got snazzier since I'd last been there.

Thanks again. :)
