Phony outrage from the people who ignored the assault on Lee Zeldin and cheered - Pelosi's daughter, in particular - the attack on Rand Paul. The party of antifa, BLM, and the "mostly peaceful" summer of mayhem lecturing others on political violence. Irony dead and it killed self-awareness along the way.

Ken, you do know that the two FB pages that were attributed to this crazy DePape were found to be fake. They were set up on Friday and taken down the next day. They were up long enough for the MSM to latch onto a bunch of nonsense and report it. Not one of them did their job and researched it.

Some conservative sites tried to spin a story that, best as I can tell so far, is nonsense.

Based on not much more than their imagination, they speculated that DePape was a prostitute and it was an argument that got out of hand, etc. etc.

The part you're referring to started out on The Gateway Pundit, which produces a lot of conservative content, but also nonsense as well.

TGP's original story said: "EXCLUSIVE: Two Far-Right Websites Attributed to David DePape to Smear Conservatives Were FABRICATED – They Were Created Friday and Deleted Saturday". (Archive link https://archive.ph/Wufje#selection-591.0-591.147)

Now, TGP has redone that headline to say: "EXCLUSIVE: Two Far-Right Websites Attributed to David DePape to Smear Conservatives Were Scraped Friday and Deleted Saturday"

(Current link: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/10/exclusive-two-far-right-websites-attributed-david-depape-fabricated-created-friday-deleted-today/)

What those fools did was go to an archive site and notice that the first time the DePape posts appeared was right after the attack, then wrongly reported that the page was "created" then.

But that's not how archive sites work. They don't just archive everything on the web, but only take snapshots when someone submits a link to do so. A month ago, no one read DePape's nutty screeds, and no one had cared to archive them.

The fact that TGP just changed the headline, which alters the story about 100%, yet has no mention that they did so, is complete journalistic malpractice.

They fooled a lot of people and should be ashamed, but this isn't the first, or 5th, time they've done so. (TGP had some 100% misleading stories about the election returns in 2020, which was when I stopped reading them.)

It's disappointing, but sometimes our side is as awful as the other.
