Trump didn’t lose the debate. He pointed all the mistakes she made in office while VP. Harris lied many times during the debate and could not give a straight answer for her failures.
May I remind you that Harris during her tour as DA put an innocent black man in prison.
Also, Harris set a low pick Tim Walz for VP, because Tim Walz is guilty of stolen valor. He lied about where he was during his military career. He also lied about the rank he was when getting out. He also, dodged deployments that involved combat and claims or gives the impression he was there.
Is this the type of leadership you want in my White House?
For me I don’t think ot loved the needle for most. I do love his combative style. The fact that he could keep his composure shows that he actually has grown a bit, which I don’t care much about, but I know a lot of people do. I ‘d rather have authenticity than a politician’s spin or rhetoric. I wish he had gone a little further on the horrendous foreign policy scene in this administration where he correctly pointed out what a failure she was when she went over there and then three days later Russia was invading Ukraine.
Yes, if I were Trump I would have ended every statement that even remotely touched on foreign policy by saying, "And don't forget the American servicemembers who died because of the Biden/Harris administration's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan." Too many people seem to have forgotten that already.
The most important factor in the Drive Bye Propaganda Fakenews Media's take on Dementia Joe's disastrous "debate" was that their marching orders were to get him as far away from the campaign as possible as soon as possible. They obviously succeeded. One significant positive from last night's debate is that Barry is going to have a hard time pulling another Change of Batter based on the fact that Heels Up far exceeded her lemming followers' minimal expectations of her performance. We MAGA Patriots couldn't ask for a better ticket representing our country's enemy than the 2 clowns they have now.
Thanks for this, Ken. Add your assessment to Margolis’s that focus groups are showing independents leaning toward Trump because of issues, and we can be somewhat encouraged that we are not condemned to a continuation of current conditions in our country. Or much worse when Kamala reveals her real intentions.
There might not be many, but still enough to sway what looks like a razor-close election in the battleground states. Although, as usual, get-out-the-vote efforts will be just as important. Committed Trump/Harris supporters don't count if they don't cast ballots.
If Trump won the June debate it was only be default because Biden lost it. It wasn't because Trump offered (as my old speech professor would have put it) logos, ethos and pathos. I don't think it's possible to win a debate in traditional rhetorical terms if you lie, bully and bluster.
Ken's right that Trump's hardcore supporters love Trump's antics, but he already has their votes. I could be wrong, but I think the "potential swing voters who respond to his brand of political theater" are going to vote for Trump anyway. So what about the true undecideds who are focused on issues like inflation and abortion? Not sure they're craving four years of continual drama and "immigrants eat pets"/"I won the 2020 election" nonsense.
Trump is a known quantity, for better or for worse, but a lot of swing voters are still getting to know Harris. Her job last night was to lay out her vision for the country (accomplished), explain her policies (not really), trigger Trump's worst tendencies (accomplished), and not screw up (accomplished). By that standard, she won.
I thought Sean Hannity had the most telling reaction. The first thing he said was that ABC was "the biggest loser" of the debate. If not even Hannity is saying Trump won, it's a safe bet Trump didn't win.

Media rigs debates so he can Lose:
Earpiece earring worn by Harris
NO = Fact checking
Harris "triggers" Trump not made=
So unless resolved why have debates
Urge Uniform Debate Policy
How to enforce?
Possible debate host
CSPAN
See past debates since 2015
CSPAN
As Freud would have said, sometimes an earring is just an earring.
Why not Newsmax hosting a debate? All the others have been for the other team.

Has anyone actually met a “undecided” voter? I can’t imagine where the species resides. Maybe in a Chicago grave.
There are plenty of people who are not interested in politics and are only superficially informed.
