1.) Are we living in a media Matrix?
You may remember the Keanu Reeves film where humans lived in a manufactured reality, created by our robot overlords. We lived in a comfy dream state, and only a red pill dose would wake us to the awful reality.
Just switch “robot overlords” into “algorithms and influencers,” and we’re close to describing our current climate. There’s one big difference, though: the media’s manufactured reality is the awful world, not the other way around.
Every day, we're fed with worst-case scenarios about our world. Depending on your news consumption, every school is either a transgender recruiting center or a right wing book-burning bonfire. That’s assuming the kids had survived the last school shooting.
Watching our flickering screens, every black American is either looting a store or a victim of racism. Most politicians, of course, are treasonous.
Perhaps the worst part of the matrix is that it’s convinced too many people that the “other” side isn’t just wrong, but evil. We see it daily.
My girlfriend, a Fox News reporter, was recently confronted by a woman who not only was convinced that the news channel was intentionally worsening America, but blamed each employee for its destruction. In this woman’s world, my girlfriend was the enemy.
Before you think that’s just “liberal thinking,” last week’s bestselling non-fiction book in the United States was this …
If you nod with agreement at the title, you’re too deep in the matrix yourself.
I’ve lived in the deepest blue part of the country for seven years, and have had many political conversations. Not debates, where I’m trying to win a point, but true conversations. I’ve yet to meet a liberal here who I’ve decided is evil. Most were misled by politicians and their supportive media, a few didn’t get past conservatives-are-bad headlines, but I don’t think a single one hated America.
We don’t live in a country at war with one another. We’re one where we actually agree on most fundamental aspects of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and argue about the ones we’ve yet to settle. And the one thing that every party shares is America.
In the movie, taking the red pill to awaken yourself to reality was no easy feat. If I recall, the system flushed you naked through pipes and there was a lot of running involved.
In real life, all we have to do is have conversations with our friends and neighbors, with an open heart and an open mind.
2.) Hunter sues Rudy
Hunter Biden is suing former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani, saying Giuliana hacked, tampered with, and manipulated data on an external hard drive in a “total annihilation” of Biden’s digital privacy. It’s quite a switch from “that laptop wasn’t mine.”
On a related note, I’m humbled to tell you I make a cameo appearance in Hunter Biden’s lawsuit against John Paul Mac Isaac, the Delaware computer repair shop owner who came to possess Biden’s laptop.
I’m on my way to becoming a footnote in history. :)
3.) Debate Night
I’m done with debates for awhile, but I’d like to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment if you have something to say.

I’m voting for President Trump, he’s already proved himself- before the Nimrod that’s there now. President Trump did nothing but improve American lives and values in his term and also throughout the world. Why are these people even running? Do any of them have a backbone as strong as President Trump? I don’t think so, Could any of them live through the hell he’s been through? is going through? I don’t think so!
Of course the democrats (like Newsom) and the media left are banging the Trump is Inevitable drum because they worry he's the only candidate Biden can beat. What surprises me is how many Republicans are starting to swallow this narrative. Those poll numbers sure look convincing! Hillary Clinton thought the same in 2016. And as DeSantis pointed out, nobody has voted yet. Ken says he's done with debates for a while. How many of us don't respond to pollsters anymore? Let's wait and see what happens once actual GOP voters make their voices heard. The Democrats die is cast. They are offering 4 more years of Joe Biden. (Though I do wonder if Gavin will somehow be called upon to replace Kamala on that ticket). Republican voters are the only ones who can move our great nation forward.
